A few of the ways I’m going to use essential oils this summer!

I never, ever thought I’d be an essential oil person. Seriously, I didn’t see this one coming.

Like I’ve said in a couple of other posts, my journey was gradual. I began cleaning up my diet here and tossing chemical junk out my house there. I began to feel better, which is something you can’t quantify. It’s one thing for someone else to tell you that ditching the junk will make you feel great; it’s completely different to physically feel the vibrancy coming back.

This isn’t about being on a health kick. It’s about living a full, abundant life, and using our unique gifts and talents. It’s about having the energy to do so. It’s about living life with purpose.

I wrote in my art journal many years ago, “Life doesn’t have to be survived.” No, no it doesn’t.

But ANYWAY, enough of the musing.

Several easy ways to use essential oils this summer! I never thought of some of these ideas!

This is my first summer using these wonderful oils, and I’ve been having so much fun. Here are some of the ways I’ve been using them:

  • Lavender roll-on for minor scrapes and kid boo-boos
  • Foot scrub after a long day
  • Lemon vitality oil in a mason jar of water
  • Purification on wool dryer balls because, mmmm!
  • Tangerine, Lime, Grapefruit, and/or Orange in the diffuser for a pick-me-up
  • Cedarwood on the bottom of my and my daughter’s feet to promote sleep
  • Frankincense in my face wash to cleanse and nourish skin
  • PanAway for sore muscles
  • Peace and Calming on my wrists on days that are a bit stressful
  • Diluted R.C. on my feet and chest when I’m feeling sniffly

I also discovered that lemon oil beautifully cleans tarnished silver! I have had a silver necklace that has been through every single DIY tarnish remover in the book (poor little necklace!) Not one of those remedies worked, but I didn’t have the heart to throw the necklace out.

To say I was shocked when I dropped one drop of lemon oil onto a cloth and easily wiped off the tarnish would be an understatement. I cried. (That necklace had SO many good memories attached to it!) I wore it yesterday and was so happy to feel it around my neck again.

It’s the little-big things!

What are some ways you like to use essential oils?

Hope you have an amazing {and creative} day!
